What's a golden lion? - 03/09/11 03:58 AM
Had a friend call and asked me, but I didn't know enough to give him a good answer. He said he found one, he thinks it's a 413, had a 2bbl intake, and golden lion decals. I've heard of them but just know enough to be dangerous. Any help would be great, thanks guys.

It's the name Chrysler used on their engines in the early 1960s. 413s did not come with 2-bbl carbs. Could be from a 383 or 361. The Chrysler emblem back then had 3 little gold lions in it.

If I'm not mistaken it's a raised block 383

The RB 383 were limited to a couple years 59 or until 60 or so. Went is the large body cars that did'nt get the HP motors. Unless one of those builders want it, hey, its a conversation piece if that's what it is. I'm not even sure if that motor came in a 2 brl. Maybe an older thing like the 350, or later a 361. Sure it's a RB?

361, rb383 and rb413 were badged in certain cars as golden lion 58-60. Black block with a gold air cleaner.

Came across a golden lion 4bbl 383 in a junkyard one time. I knew it was nothing I could or would do anything with but the guy who owned it sure thought he had "gold"!
