Yes - and hopefully others will chime in with pics.
Modification 1: The lower plastic part will need to be trimmed away to accommodate the shifter boot
Modification 2: The top plate needs to be changed to one for a 4-speed. The opening for the shifter is larger and shaped a bit differently. Plates are available in repro.
An alternative would be to cut the plate that you have, though you would lose the raised edge for the area surrounding the shifter. A new 4-speed woodgrain could be used as the template for the cuts.

Just picked up an auto one the other day for $80. Set it next to my 4 speed one. Looks like it could be done but is the 4 speed unit longer?

They sell a template to cut the lower plastic of the console to work.
Console Template E and late B body Auto to 4 speed at 521 restorations If you call Jeff and tell him you are a moparts member he will give you a discount on most things i think the template is only 10 dollars or something like that though. He runs a good shop I ordered a 1970 Roadrunner fdront bumper from him through AMD on a thursday night and recieved it Saturday morning!

migsBig is right the one on the left is an earlier body 1970 style i believe as it only has the 3 screws in the console plate as the one on the right has either 4 or 5 and is 71-74 if memory serves correctly i know my brothers 70 only had 3 places in the top plate and my 72 had many more
