im going with a pro comp dist and coil. i need to bypass my resistor. it is a 4 prong does the resistor have anything to do with the alt.? if not can i eliminate the wiring from the resistor forward?

what type of coil, oil or epoxy (HEI style)?

If it is a self contained dist w the ECU inside of it & a full 12V external coil yes toss the ballast & tie the run and start wires together ign1/ign2) & run them to the coil positive and to the dist whichever wire is the feed for it, red maybe. EDIT if the coil is also self contained in the dist then the same, tie run/start together & run it to the dist & there's no external coil to deal w/run a wire to

ok so on the resistor i am supposed to hook all 4 connections together? then run the pos. coil wire from where? can i use the orginal coil pos. wire?

I also ran a pro comp distributor. Pull the ballast and attach all 4 wires together.

i just hooked all four together and used my orginal coil wire. it fired up and ran smooth thanks! do i run my aftermarket tach to the neg side of the coil?
