71 Cuda manual steering. Is the manual and power steering coupler different?

Yes, but it may depend on the year. The sector sizes are different.

I want to say that Mancini makes an adapter.... But I don't know exactly what you're trying to do.

I have a power steering column and manual steering gear box and I need to connect the two!

Some feel that a u-joint it not the way to go, I would suggest you review it for yourself and make a decision.

Maybe if you would have actually provided information as to what your problem was in the first post, you could have
gotten an answer by now. Funny, I didn't see "mind reader" under my avatar.

And maybe if you would drop that PA attitude, we could make some headway. I asked if there was a difference and you obviously don't have the answer. Time to move on.

And you still haven't told me what the column is out of, what the box is from, etc. So I cannot possibly
give you a concrete answer. Things changed by year and application.

Good luck with your problem.

Guy, I don't know what your major malfunction is, but READ MY POST!!!!!! It requires a very simple answer. You are complicating things. You are the guy that probably looks for an excuse to tear his engine down.

The column of a manual is longer then a power so if you are using the power column and a manual box, the coupler is the same but you can get an adapter from Mancini. It's just a shaft that attaches to the top of the box (an extension), that then couples to the power column.

Coupler ID/spline count might be the same on your '71 Cuda but on my 65 Dart (64-66 A body's & maybe 63) I went from manual to power & got a shorter inner shaft & it swaps right in but I had to get the PS coupler, it was different. Luckily I had one in my stash & it sure was nice to keep the same col just swap the innards (One of the adv's of early A's ). The Camel pic was good, that's us
