disc brake caliper placement question - 02/09/11 05:24 PM
Should the caliper be in the front of the set-up or the rear(9 o'clock or 3 o'clock)? Example in picture is drivers side, but I think I got it wrong.

There is no right or wrong place persay. If you can run your brake hose than you are fine. Mopars 69 and back had the caliper in that position it wasn't until 70 that these moved them up front.

Brake hose routing works the best if the hose crosses the spindle. But, you can do it either way and make it work. It just is easier if you cross the spindle because that gives you more room to work with. Almost all of the factory designs used a hose that crossed the spindle for that reason.

Just make sure the bleeder ends up on the top.
On my '64, I put the calipers on the rear because of interference with the sway bar. Had to hunt around for hoses that would work right and ended up with '73 Charger ones.
