Well, in my book it says that after you discon the battery term, remove the right wheel, then splash guard underneath, the pwr steering oil cooler, the drive axle, and of course the wires and bolts. remove the alt adjustment bolt, and pivot bracket nut n bolt. remove the bracket assembly, take alt out the botom. Looks fun.........yuk when it's cold or on the ground. You should do yourself a favor and go buy a repair manual for your car. PT crusiers have a lot of issues through out its life

You have to remove the drive-axle to get the alt out ? ....

Are there any MORE worse than that ?

Tore into it last nite and found out that YES you do have to take the drive-axle out ,just to get the Alternator out from under the car! It's loose and removed from the motor ,but there is'nt a big enough hole to drop it out without pulling the drive-axle! Next question is how to get the axle out? MODERN ENGINEERING! SHEESH!

Haven't had any issues with mine, except an A/C one that was covered. Drove it last night for the first time in over a month. Ran great. GFs one has an oil light I have to diagnose, but that's it.
Hondas from the 80s had to drop an axle for alt R&R too, so it's not just Mopars.
