New Pistons Valve relief machined to edge is this OK? - 02/05/11 11:17 PM

I am assembling my 408 Stroker. These are custom made Ross Pistons and the valve relief's on all 8 are machined right to the edge of the piston. On three of them it is so close that it is below the top of the piston. Is this ok?

I will call Ross on Monday but figured i would get a response here pretty quick.

Yes thats fine, as long as none of the edges get to a paper thin state. KB takes some of thier BB pistons all to to edge. You can rest your thumb in the in the dip and fit the curcature of it. mike

I would deburr all the edges and the skirt edges on the bottom on both sides
