spline count on a 727

Does anyone know what the spline count on a 727 and what will interchange in a 727 big block and a 727 small block transmission I need to order a torque converter and don't want to pull the motor and trans just yet.

DON'T remember the exact spline-count ... but the converter swap you speak of ... no prob.

66 and up 727's were all the same as far as spline count big block or small block. Some convertors with cast crank engines had offset balance weights on them. Sorry I can't remember the exact spline count at this time.

I just didnt know if all 727 had the same spline count or some were different but looking at summit I think they are all 24 spline thanks for the info.

lock up trans are diff and do not interchange with non lock up !

dont forget internal and external balancing !

I believe 66 & earlier are 19 spline
