mp3 player for mopars??? - 09/08/08 05:02 AM

I'm trying to come up with a way to install a mp3 player/radio in my daughters 73 Dart Swinger. I want to leave the original am radio in the dash OR install a unit into dash without any cutting. Any suggestions?? thanks

Contact Moparts member BigMoneyLewis, I believe he restores Mopar radios and can add an MP3 jack to your existing radio. Here's a link to his website.

iPod in the console, running through an amp under the rear console of my 66 Charger. Nothing visible, no cutting!

Same here. Amp under my bench seat in my RoadRunner with a wire running up between the seat backs to plug in my iPod.

Simple install... one to power, one to ground, and two two my rear speakers.

That's what I did and I am very happy with his work and the quality of the final product. You get basically a headphone jack coming out of the AM radio, you could input an MP3 player, satellite radio... anything that has a headphone "out" jack.

I had him do two radios for me w/ the jack. I will put the jack in the ash tray so it is hidden.

what about fm radio. It must be viewable for tuning. Isn't there a head unit which is basically like a removable face that can be mounted easily?

These folks here do an excellent job of coverting your old radio to modern internals along with mp3, satelite radio inputs and such all while maintaining the stock housing and face plate.

What brand/model amp are you guys using??
I have been wanting to do this exact thing in my Fury, but haven't had much luck identifying an amp that would take high level inputs well.
