Thanks!!

I was wondering if there was anything special about this trans that I would need to pay attention to. What is the gear ratios and such. I am almost done with the resto on this car and just need to install the drive train. When I bought the car two years ago it had a dana 60 from a 68 B-body and the motor is a 340 from a 68 as well. Unfourtunatly I cannot read the vin on the block.

When I rebuilt the motor and installed new stock length 340 push rods they were too long. After a week of severe frustration I finally decided to have Smith Brothers cut some custom rods and be done with it. Upon calling them and talking with their Mopar guru he advised that the reason the stock rods were too long is because the adj rockers that came on the TA heads require a shorter rod. So that was a nice surprise.

Alaskan,

How did you decode all that data about my car from just the last 8 of the VIN. I knew the trans was the original but WOW you got all that with out the fender tag.. ??

He must have a broadcast sheet or sales order from your car in his file .

There is nothing special about that trans , it's your run of the mill 23 spline 833 , should have a 2.47 first gear ratio.

I have a photo of the tag, no magic involved.

This time.
