strut rod bushings? - 01/28/11 06:17 AM

hey all,

i got a poly suspension kit from springs n things and have been installing it. everything was going smoothly until i got to the strut rod bushings. these are not supposed to be hard to get on, right??
the old ones slid right off, but these ones i had to rubber hammer on to get the center metal piece to even move
this is for a 66 coronet, did they give me the wrong size? or am i missing something?
just want to find out more before i try and return them

thanks for any help

No suspension guys around? Didn't think this would be a very hard question for anyone that has done suspension work

Usually the polys are tight.I didnt install them on my 65 but I did use them on the rear springs and the lower control arms.Did you lube them? That makes them slide on easier.I used RMS adjustable rods with heims. Rocky

I used Firm Feel's urethane strut rod bushings, they have no center piece. They go right on the strut rod. See if yours fit good without the spacer.

Yea they fit fine without the spacer, what is the point of it anyway? I don't want to waste effort on the spacer if I don't really need them
