Shocks

I need new shocks for my '74 Plymouth Voyager 1 ton. I've heard Bilstiens are the way to go but that's a lot of coin (about $100 each). I've had bad luck with KYB's and Monroes (KYB's were hard as rocks...Monroes way to mushy).

What are you guys running? What's good, bad? etc?
