They are definitely different...kick down linkage as well. The better question is why remove the 4bbl carb? Less power, less fuel economy than a properly tuned 4bbl when you have a 2bbl

Throttle cable is the same. Only the linkage and mounting bracket are different.

the reason is i am putting the 4BBl on my car it is a edelbroock performer wioth a 650 cfm and the 2bbl on the car that i am selling the kickdown linkage seems the same but the gas cable seems longer , one of you says its the same the other they are different you got me wondering

Like said the Cable length is fine for either....the Bracket that holds the cable( the one that bolts to the intake ) is different from 2 bbl to 4 bbl as well as the KD rod .

The part of the bracket that clamps around the throttle cable is further towards the firewall on a 2 bbl than a 4 bbl.

Just stuck an Eddy & 600 Holley on a 318 that had a 2 bbl & all I did was pull the correct 4 bbl Bracket outta stock & use it with the old 2bbl cable. Had to tweak the KD rod since I didn't have any 4bbl ones left.

2bbl and 4bbl cables are different. Have different travel lengths. Different part#. So are the cable brackets.

So there are 2 cables...good to know.

The 2 bbl cable did at least have enough length to work in my conversion without having to have an extension.

Sounds like in his case he might just want to swap to keep the longer cable for future use.

sure enough , i took the bracket off the 2 bbl and looking at both side by side the 2 bbl is like said closer to firewall this will help as my cable was to long to travel the complete swing of pedal now with the bracket being furter back i get my full travel thanks guys Mike

Heres the brackets. I forgot your going from a 4bbl to a 2bbl. The 4bbl cable may work. If you use a 2bbl cable on a 4bbl, not enough travel to open the 4bbl all the way open.

A 2 barrel cable works with a 4 barrel too as long as you have the right bracket.
