A/C condensor max pressure - 01/12/11 09:30 PM
I need to build a heater for my compressed air to warm up my compressed air while I'm painting. I have a heater box out of a 73 Satellite and it still has the A/C condenser in it. will the A/C condenser from the heater box handle 125 PSI ? if not how much will it handle?

Thank You Stumpy That's what I wanted to hear. My plan is to run the air line that comes into the shop into the condenser with a couple computer fans on the condenser then out to my air drier then to the regulator. I learned on my last couple cars that I can paint good in the summer but in the winter I get a lot of orange peel. The booth temps are the same summer and winter 75-78 degrees the only difference is the temperature of my air. My compressor sits outside so My air is cold in the winter. I will give this a shot and see if it makes a difference.

Typically, an r134a A/C system will shut down or pressure relieve at around 375psi. You'll have no problem with shop air.

I'm sure this would have been an R12 system being a 73. But either way it should do the job Thanks guys?
