Duster rear tires - 01/11/11 08:57 PM
...a friend wants to put a 29" tire on his big block '72 Duster.
i told him a 275 60 15 at 28" was as tall as i thought you could go, without a 1" spacer ahead of the front spring mount...anyone try this?
what backspace is necessary for 275 60 15?
.tx guys

255/70/15 is 29" tall. close to same width as a 255/60/15.
i would think it would fit nicely.

gotta watch height so as not to rub to front edge of the wheel well, thats the tighest point, I have 255x60 R15 because I play it safe..well, Except I have 2 1/2" backspaced 15x8's..lol 2" over springs are the key there..

The only other area he needs to look at is the front leading
edge of the rear wheel openings to make sure it clears other
wise he will need to trim that leading edge.

a drag radial at 275/60-15 is about the biggest meat you'll stuff under there w/o other mods.

with 02&03 SS springs you can use a 295/50/15 on a 15x10 rim with 4.5 back space.
