440 Aluminum Intake Torque - 12/15/10 04:24 PM

I have a Offenhauser dual quad and I can't find any torque specs on it. I see that a cast iron intake is 40lb/ft but Edelbrock recommends their aluminum intakes at 25lb/ft. Any help would be appreciated.

Never worried about toque specs on an intake. started in the center and criss crossed outward alternating ends and sides and tightening in small amounts each time around till tight. Never had a problem.

I'd find the factory circular pattern in a motors manual or other book & adhere to it & the flange thickness should be pretty close between eddy/offy so as said 25 on cleaned/lightly oiled bolts and chased holes w a thread cleaning tap rather than a regular tap. & at least 3 or 4 trips around to get up on it slowly. A bit picky but that's me.
