E440 HP

i have a 440 block that has E440 12 13 2 stamped on the pad.casting # 2536430-10 date 11-14-68. the vin number on the rail is CH43K9F187976. when you check the vin it comes back as a http://www.decodethis.com/VINDecoded/tabid/53/Default.aspx?vin=CH43K9F187976 chrysler newport,300,newyorker. someone said it could not be a hp block. didnt they put hp engines in full size cars also ?

350 HP TNT motor..

It's just a 440, not a TNT motor. TNT was Chrysler's name for "Magnum" and "Super Commando"

Does it say HP, if not, then it isn't an HP motor.

it's a "K" 440 (350hp) not a "L" 440HP (375hp) "TNT" in Chrysler-speak.

CH43 is a New Yorker 4-door hardtop

pppssssttt , the difference between a HP and non HP 440 is the 2 stamps H and P .

Yes they did put the 440 HP in the big cars if ordered , this one was not .

thanks for the help. Rich whats the difference between the 350 and 375 is there a diff in material of the block or weaker rods ? or is it a cam and piston change ? i have pistons 2 sets with 2 different deck hights 1 set 1.375 and the other 1.50
