6 banger RT/SE? - 11/23/10 08:21 PM

Found a 70 Chally in a shed awhile back and it keeps haunting me. Dash vin shows as a 6 cylinder 70 Challenger RT (JS). Did these cars exist? If memory serves I think it also has a small back window like an SE. Special order? If you could get a Challenger R/T with a six banger, does anyone know how many were built? Thanks, Rob.

No such animal, no way, no how...

Standard engine for the R/T was the 383-4 bbl. Magnum.

Could be an error when the VIN tag was made, wouldn't be the first time. Also make sure whatever it is you are using to decode is correct because the engine letter call out changed in 1970 , seems that happened every few years ....

C is next to the V on a keyboard.

Yes c is close to v. Wouldn't that be a kick! I still wonder if it is there. Like you say could be a vin mistake. Wouldn't mind finding an oddball if it exist though
