B Body oil pan fit question

B Body oil pan fit question - 11/21/10 05:51 PM

I want to put a Milododon 7 quart oil pan on my 69 GTX. 440 4 speed car. It is about 2 inches lower than the stock pan. Does anyone use this pan on their B Body and do you have any ground clearance issues? Also, do you recomend this pan?? Would you buy again?? Thanks in advance

i have a generic 7qt which is 2" deeper than stock - looks like a stock pan, cut, with a deeper sump welded on. also much heavier duty metal used than the stock pan, and it was just a $90 one (with pickup - also better design than stock imo. my front end sits close to stock height and i haven't had any issues with ground clearance - i think some people's headers hang lower than my oil pan. the only issue i had was with center link clearance - but the stock pan was all beat-up from the center link, too, so the pan wasn't the issue imo.

I run a 8 qt Moroso on my 65 B body. Its been on at least 15 years and street driven. It has plenty of clearance.I run 165x80x15 frt tires and the front end could still be lifted a few inches if I wanted to.Rocky

Having the oil pan being the lowest point is never a good idea. I run on of these pans on my 68 Charger and it has hit speed bumps. I plan to extend the factory skid plate to protect it.
