AAR Fiberglass?

AAR Fiberglass? - 11/12/10 08:07 PM

Hello Moparts,

I am having trouble getting parts out of these guys. Anybody having issues?

I ordered stuff directly off their site, (nothing custom) and have been getting the runaround ever since. Of course, you pay upfront for parts like this - then they go make them. So, they have my money and I don't have any parts.

Now, they don't respond to emails or answer the phone at the shop when I call.

Just curious if I'm "not holding the phone right" or something?

I'll follow along, was thinking of getting a hood from them.

x2

From my notes, they are the most recommended fiberglass body parts supplier for Mopars. I too have been considering a hood.

I, too consulted the oracle that is Moparts before I placed my order with them. I fear that something has happened (illness, injury) to key parts of their operation... I am not implying that they intended to take my money.

But it really makes a difference how a company handles unforseen circumstances. . .

If you paid with a card call the card company and reverse the charges. That will either get their attention or your money back if you get your money back and still want the hood just re order it

My customer ordered his 68/69 Road Runner Six Pak hood from them awhile back, but it finally came in. It was one of the best fiberglass hoods I have seen, I have been doing paint & body work for over 30 years. What he was told was that he is doing all the work himself at AAR, I have one of thier hoods on my 68 RR, Again very nice quality!

Honestly ..... GOOD quality REPLACEMENT-type parts that are sometimes heavier than steel ... prices that will empty your wallet ....and customer-service that SPEAKS for itself(read above) ...

I ordered a 65 hood scoop custom fitted for a 66 hood, it came 4 months late and not custom fitted for the 66! They lost my business forever.

JUST CURIOUS .... how did they say they were going to "custom fit" the scoop to that hood ?

It took six months to get the hood for my Challenger after they took my money. Then I take it to my painter and he tells me that the hood had been taken out of the mold too soon and the scoop saged in the middle. I have a total of 3500 dollars in my hood.

Regardless of the negative comments they still have THE best 'glass products I've seen. The Glasstek stuff looks pretty good too but haven't actually seen any in person.

I bought a hood from them years ago with the same problem, they wouldnt return phone calls, and it took forever to get the hood. I was so mad I still wont buy anything from them. unfortunatly they are one of the few companies you can get a quality hood from, well most of the time.

I seem to have that problem also.

Anyway, customer relations has IMO always been a thorn with AAR. However they seem to be a standup company and they are not going to rip you off. However every company can go bankrupt, and then the last customer always gets left holding the bag, that is not the case here of course. Just try to think like you are at a fine high class restaraunt, you have to wait to get a table.

I hope no one gets a front challenger bumper from him!
Mine was twisted on one end.
He said there all like that from taking it out of the mold.
Would not give me my money back. He said buy another one from him and send the less twisted one back. Jerk
I ordered from him cause everyone on moparts said they were the best, NOT!
I could have drove to glasstek and got a good one.
He does not deserve our business when he is like that.
