Tire Size - 11/10/10 07:32 PM

Looking for ideas on tires for my 71 RR. I have 15X7 Rallys for the front and 15X9 Ralleys for the rear. I was thinking 255/60. Any suggestions and possibly pics since I'm somewhat visual?

Thanks

We are going with 255/60-15 on 15x8 Steelies on the back of a customers 70 RR Conv. I think it should be a perfect fit.

www.tirerack.com has good tire sizing info on their site. Pick any tire you like and click on the 'specs' tab for the tire. It will give what rim widths will fit for the tire and what the tire is sized for.

Also, for that body with 9" in the rear, be careful to have the right backspacing on those rims.

I'm shopping for 9.5" rears for my '72 RR now, and based on leaf spring clearance, and fender clearance, about 5.5" BS should work about right.
For 9" rims, 5 to 5.5" BS would work pretty good, I imagine.

For tires, 245 to 275 section width would probably fit.

I hav 15x7 fronts and 15x10 backs on my 73 satellite. but i messed up back spacing on the rear and get a little bit fender rub on coners, but only on the driverside and only when I have 4 people in the car.
