It has a bit of a lope to it. Not crazy, but, noticeable.

The Comp Cams catalogue says great for street machines stock converter, slightly rough idle.

I purchased the next largerst cam. The XE274. Im hoping it wont be a little much for me. Im running 10 to 1 Ross pistons, XE274 and not really sure if Im gonna run headers or not. I may need to on this cam. I do plan to run a little more than a stock converter, maybe 2800ish.

Re: XE268 Cam Question - 08/30/08 02:53 AM

depends what size engine.smaller engine , more lope.more inital timeing helps to tame the idle.i run about 20 inital,35 total. my 400 with 268xe has only a tiny bit of lope to it.sounds about stock to me.on the other hand, my 440 with 292 magnum sounds like an engine should.

Re: XE268 Cam Question - 08/30/08 03:08 AM

It's a neat little car.

Engine made about 350HP and 400 TQ. Ran right at 102mph at MATS with a 2.94 rear gear and rolling easy off the line. He didn't want to break the 7 1/4 rear that's currently in the car. I think the car was capable of about 104 or so if we tuned it up a bit. The carb a 750DP, straight out of the box, no changes.

I've got that cam in my 340 and it sounds pretty similar at idle as the car in that video.
