09 challenger 6 speed. what bolts fit the bell? - 10/27/10 12:54 PM
i have a 6 speed from a 09 challenger and went to bolt it up but the holes in the bell are a lot bigger than the bolts? the bolts in the block are 3/8 just like the older smallblock but the hole in the bellhousing is a lot bigger.i am bolting it up to a 6.1 hemi and the 3/8 bolts screw in to the block .
anyone know if it had some special bolt or sleeve?

i called the dealership. they didnt know very much. they got me the bolts but they are just 3/8 studs. i asked if there was anything else because the hole in the bell is 1/2". he said the picture dosent show anything , he called chrysler , i guess the tech line, and said they had no idea. said he was going to email some one there and see what happens.
I know the dow pins will keep the transmission from moving but what reason would there be for making the bolt hols 1/2" and using 3/8" bolts?
the starter is the same way.

i have all of those studs and bolts and was thinking that the 1/2" hole in the bellhousing was too big for a 3/8 bolt or stud but i guess thats the way it is.
