Hot Rod Flatz, or similar paint practicality - 10/16/10 11:39 PM

Looking to paint my truck Semi gloss Green or some other color. Wondering how hard is it to clean after running through the mud boggs?
Anyone?

This type of paint will be more difficult to clean, as you have guessed. Dirt and dust are simply harder to remove.

I know some guys that are spraying their entire truck with a urethane bedliner that is tintable. You can make it almost any color you want and it's a breeze to clean up

As in a scrub brush? or pressure washer?, or what??

I thought about Bed liner material, just not sure about the texture aspect. Might be more expensive too
Thanks

There are few ways to get that semi-gloss look , so you need to figure out which way you want to go .One of the ways is using base/clear system with flattening agent added in the clearcoat, you can adjust the sheen with flattening agent. You can also buy matte clear already premixed, just add hardener. Most paint brands have their version. Another way is single stage system with flattening agent. You can also add clearcoat hardener into basecoat and have it will have that semi-gloss look.

Any one of them will be easy to wash the dirt off, the problem you will run into if you go for more matte, flat or egg-shell sheen, the more you rub on it, the more shinier it will get and will create noticeable spots, that's what you need to worry about, but if you go for semi-gloss, you'll have alot less of these problems

Ok, thanks... I guess experimentation is in order.
