2005 Jeep..CD Stuck - 10/06/10 02:09 AM

Hey Guys,

I have a buddy that has a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a CD stuck in the player in the radio. The CD will play and I can hear the player trying to eject the CD, but the player will not. It's an AM/FM single disk CD player. I've tried pulling the fuse and reinstalling the fuse. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Pull the faceplate off. It will give you enough room to get in there with some tweezers. This usually occurs when a cd label catches inside the palyer but of course other things can cause it too.

used to happen on my ex's Ferd Escape also. They were very easy to pull out of the dash, and give it a thunk with your hand and it would spit out. You could see shiny wear spots on the ejection mechanism, shot it with some white grease and reduced the hang ups.

Not sure if the jeep has it but on an xbox there is a small hole that you stick a bent paperclip in and it manually engages the eject gears. Might be worth a look.

My 2005 Ram did the same thing several times. I would wait a few days and try again and the CD would eject. I finally got sick of it and replaced it with an aftermarket stereo. I have a Pioneer that accepts a USB memory stick. I don't even have have CDs in my truck now, I have 60 complete CDs on a 4MB stick.
