Goodyear Speedway F70X15 Redlines or whitewalls.

The '69 HEMI b-bodies were advertised with FIBERGLASS-BELTED F70-15 "red streak" U65 ("white streak" U64 OPTIONAL) tires from the begining of the model year. The GOODYEAR SPEEDWAY is not a fiberglass-belted tire. The correct tire is GOODYEAR POLYGLAS!

U65 - Goodyear Polyglas F70-15 "red streak" - STANDARD
U64 - Goodyear Polyglas F70-15 "white streak" - OPTIONAL

I do not believe Firestone's "WIDE OVAL" was available FIBERGLASS-BELTED in '69.

It could be possible early production cars recieved the '68 HEMI nylon cord tire - Goodyear SPEEDWAY F70-15 "red streak".

I don't recall FIRESTONE'S being used on mopar muscle cars in that time period.
Fords yes...

I have an NOS F70-15 Goodyear Speedway tire if you want me to check and see what material it's made out of.

Is it a "red streak"? I'd love to see pics and the date code.

Yes, in the late '60s some Firestone tires were used on A-bodies.

Firestone was used for the STANDARD performance tire (D70-14 & E70-14) on Formula S, 'Cuda, GTS & Swinger. Not sure if it was exclusive?

The OPTIONAL "fiberglass-belted" E70-14 tire was Goodyear Polyglas.

Coker Tire's Firestone "Wide Oval" reproductions have been around since the mid-'80s & have always been less expensive and have a much larger distribution network than Kelsey Tire's Goodyear Speedway and/or Goodyear Polyglas reproductions that have been around about half as long.

The Firestone "Wide Oval" name stayed constant through the years although the type of tire construction changed. These dates are estimates - used to demonstrate the changes. The "Wide Oval" was built as nylon-cord ('67-'69), fiberglass-belted ('70+), and steel belted ('74+). The reproduction's sidewall reads "SUP-R-BELT" which was the steel belted version, the current tire is fiberglass-belted and is manufactured at the same plant as the reproduction Goodyears.

My Oct '68 built '69 Charger came with a Firestone F-70 14 Redline original spare.

I also have a White stripe version of that by Firestone that came out of a Jan '69 production '69 Charger. It was also a spare.

I guess in some cases they used whatever they could get to get cars out the door.

Can you provide more details, do you still have the cars/tires, can you post some pics?

Do you know the VIN# of the Charger? What engine? Was it "B" - Hamtramck or "G" - St. Louis assembled?

Do you still have the spare wheel, what is the date code on the wheel?

What is the tire - Firestone Wide Oval, DOT code, type of construction off sidewall, etc.?

Pics would be great.

and now I know!

The Goodyear is a white stripe. I had it for sale in the wheels and tires awhile back.

You still want a picture?

Ok, first the Redline. I think it said wide oval bias ply. This was the spare on the car and looked like it had never been on the ground.

It came from a 69 Charger R/T SE, 440 trak pak car. Build date Oct. 29, 1968 in Hamtramck. I bought this car in the early 80's as a 80K mile original car. The only thing changed on the car, was the tires and the exhaust tips. Guess they rotted off because one of the new tips was already rotting too.

Wish I could tell you more, but it was stolen from me in 1987 along with a bunch of other stuff. If you ever meet Wayne Piper from Sweetwater, TN., please find out where he lives so I can pay him a visit and discuss in private with him that situation.

The Whiteline I have in my possession along with the build sheet, window sticker and bill of sale for the car it came from.

The car is a 318 car built in Hamtramck. Build sheet tire code - T82, under wheel it says 16 x9.

Window sticker says W18 simulated mag wheel covers ($64.10) and T82 f70x14 white sidewall tires ($57).

I'll post some pics, if you want more info, let me know.
