Tubular A-arms - 09/14/10 04:56 AM

I recently purchased a set of tubular A-arms from Reilly motor sports. I am curious are tubular A-arms an upgrade from stock or not really.

They are an upgrade in a couple of areas, mainly in the ability to achieve more positive caster. I did put a set on my son's 67 Barracuda canyon carver, but I'm not spending the money for arms for my 67 Barracuda convertible.

I threw a set from Firmfeel on my '68 Barracuda along with some other goodies. The car tracks straighter down the highway without that vague wandering feeling, which can largely be attributed to having more positive caster.

The Hotchkis tubular upper control arms come with an additional bracket to relocate one of the control arm bushings. I understand it changes/improves the geometry and reduces bumpsteer. Haven't tried those, and they are proud of them.
