Air Cleaner Lid - Decal Application

I'm ready to apply the new air cleaner decal and don't want to goof it up. I know a number of you have replaced yours and I want to benefit from your experience.

My decal is the semi-circular type with the chrome looking background. It goes on the inner circle of the lid that has the raised center for the thumb-screw. THANKS.

You could try soap and water like you would to apply a decal to the body of a car. I use Ivory soap powder mixed with water. Good luck!
