E Body Manual - 08/30/10 10:04 AM

Im currently rebuilding my Challenger taking lots of pics as I pulled it apart but I thought I should get a Manual in case I forget the order things go together. Ive got the mechanical side sorted but what manual is best showing window regulators, grill assembly and other body related stuff. Its a 1970 if that makes a difference.

The factory service manual is worth its weight in gold. You can find an occasional original on Ebay. Those are the best. There are PDF versions available on CD ROM that are pretty good. I find the pictures do not print as well as the original factory manual did.
I have an original factory manual for a 1971 Cuda that I use a lot because the pictures and diagrams are clearer but check with my CD ROM version that is specifically for the 73 to make sure there were no changes between the model years.

In addition to the FSM, some things like window adjustments are covered in the 1970 Service Highlights book;

Technical Service Bulletins were also used to update the FSM after it went to print, you can find some of those here;

Actually, I think Year One only has the 71 Body Service manual, a useful, but incomplete document if you are going to be doing much work on a '71.

There are a fair number of used repop '71 FSM's available from specialists like Bishko's Books. An original is hard to find. I have one of each and find the authorized repop manuals are very usable and a good bith cheaper!

I'be got the CD version of the FSM from "MuscleCARS" Mopar Manuals on CD-ROM. It is worth its weight in gold. The book version would be good also (better?) but the CD works.
