P/S Pump Question

Actually two questions--I'm thinking of installing a power steering fluid cooler and was wondering which line does a p/s cooler use...the low pressure side right?; and can big primary(2"dia)headers, being so close to the steering box, cook the p/s fluid on a hot day? Therefore creating the need for a p/s cooler?!

Yes, return line, and I think the heat from the headers cooked seals in my PS box, tho could just have been old age. Mounted cooler at pump, at mounting point, fan cooled, no problems. Cop car cooler, stock location.

put a heat shield over the ps box anyway. i cooked a couple myself. some of the later ones came with a rubber heat shield.

get a big after market cooler, the stock little ones do little good
