A-Body Steering Wheel Removal

A-Body Steering Wheel Removal - 08/20/10 02:35 AM

I'm trying to remove the steering wheel in my 74 Scamp and im lost on how to do it. I thought you just use a puller but I think I may be missing a step or something because it isn't budging. Can someone help me out?

I just did it on my friend's '70 Duster. Just took off the center nut, borrowed a puller from the parts store & pulled it off.

Don't know why a '74 would be any different?

i tried using a harmanic balancer puller but could not get it to budge...i guess i will go get an actual steering wheel puller and try that..thanks guys!

A blancer puller is capable of much more pulling force than a steering wheel puller, that aside, the local autozone loans them out nc. Have you tried tapping the bolt head whith the puller attatched, a little coaxing?
