Can anyone recommend a decent rattle can clear to shoot over the spatter paint in my trunk?

I like the duplicolor stuff available at advance auto.

the wheel flares on my dakota, I painted with rattle cans of duplicolor.

it's not as deep as "real" paint, but for small trim pieces, it looks good in my opinion.

here's a repair I did for cheap, using some scrap metal, and cans of rattle paint laying around in the garage...

Check with Eastwood, they sell a good assortment of clears (they even have it in a kit with thier trunk paint as well) and I have always had great luck with all of thier paint products

Another good clear I have used a couple times now in a clear/base combo is U-Pol, I got it in Oz actually, but seen it at some paint supply places here too..it was kind of pricey but worked excellent.

Man, that truck bed turned out pretty good. How hard does the paint feel?

Thanks. I'll have to check out Eastwood. I was hoping I could find something I can pick up locally though.

after a few weeks, it finally started to feel hard enough that I could possibly wet sand it or polish it, but I havent touched it. it's a truck bed, and it's covered up all the time anyway, and never gets seen except at the gas station when I raise the cover to fill up the fuel cells!

Try going to a local paint/body shop supply place then...they might have something in a can. (I did see the UPol around here once even)

Use clear engine enamel..Rustoleum has a excellent clear that doesn't turn yellow(Dupli color turned yellow on me) Auto Zone carries it.

My buddy was telling me about a catylized clear in a spray can where you push a button on the bottom of the can to release the hardner. No sure of the brand...sorry.

It was about $20 a can, I used a couple of cans of the epoxy primer that was made that way, but I can't find it anymore, can't remember the brand either, but at the time I did an online search for it and couldn't find it anymore. Dupli-color turns yellow and cracks
