Differences in E body & B body 3/8" Fuel Sending Unit? - 08/17/08 01:00 AM

i posted in wrong place before so i am posting this here. sorry.
is the float arm on a e body fuel sending unit longer than a b body one 3/8" unit?
the reason im asking is because the restoration shop put in a sending unit and it doesnt read full when in the car.when i take it out and test it, it works fine.i believe the float is hitting the top of the gas tank? any help. thanks
