FAST EZ-EFI - 07/10/10 01:56 PM

Hey, I'm up at Goodguys in Columbus, Ohio and just saw the FAST EZ-EFI system on sale for $1,995 today. Has anyone used these, know someone who has, or have any info in this product and whether this is a good deal or not? Reg price $2,250 no tax here today either. I've almost talked myself into one for the Challenger because I've wanted fuel injection for a few years now.
part # 30226-KIT
Thanks!

Re: FAST EZ-EFI - 07/10/10 02:05 PM

I am installing mine currently. I have to finish the new fuel system first, and then I switch over to it, so I am starting out with my trusted carb on it first, and going from there. Made tons of changes and don't need hassles I can't locate.

DJVcuda on here has one as well and he is already driving his. I think, compared to the old classic FAST I have on my Cuda, its super simple.

I think they are way worth it...

What did you gunk of your "classic" fast? This is the first I've really read about them, and I hate to buy something on a whim, but I love the idea of it being innterchangeable among any car or motor even if I decide to sell the Chally some day. Keep the comments Rollin guys! Thanks!

Re: FAST EZ-EFI - 07/10/10 03:35 PM

The classic system on my Cuda is super flexible and now made obsolete with the XFI version that will learn the VE fuel table just as the EZ efi does. Basically, you put in your target A/F ratio, and it learns the fuel map to hit that A/F ratio. My classic will compensate to hit the target A/F up to +/20%, but anything more and its off. And everything in the classic version has to be set-up and watched as it runs to tune.

Here is a pic of the engine.....Not for the faint of heart.

Rich - this is the complete system including fuel pump. No tax, no shipping. Honestly I haven't been on here much and am out of the loop on a lot. It just caugh my eye today and it's an easy solution to my fuel injection dreams.
I just wasn't sure if anyone would recommend it or if it was worth the money. Thanks m

Read my customer reviews on the FAST site. This system works. Also, there's good coverage on today's Horsepower TV program.

But you have the part numbers slightly wrong.

The 30226-kit is the system WITHOUT the fuel system that I sell for $1725.
The "master kit", that includes the fuel system, is part # 30227-kit. I sell this system for $1945. Shipping to you would be tax free. I would have it drop shipped to you for $18 shipping cost.

I have about 1000 miles on my dual quad setup - I'm driving it all over Carlisle this weekend and having no issues at all.

Well, hows the comparison between the two? Mileage, hp, ET....

I would have had my new fuel system up and running tonight, but ran into two new gremlins. Tomorrows another day, but still going to run it on the carb on for a week, and figure out if I have time to put the efi on it....I really want to put at least the single 4bl TB unit on, and maybe the TR if I find some extra cash.

Here's my 526" engine from 1998 using the SpeedPro system, before it became known as FAST.

Seen the Wilson V-Power? I like the idea of a computer learning the curves, much more logical than the manual setups.

Mileage is better - 1-2 mpg's on average

my tips are not sooty like they used to be.

next up is the drag and dyno test, but I have to work that around my work schedule.

I can tell you that it's a real nice feeling not to have to touch the gas pedal when you fire it up , or keep it running till it warms up.
I cant tell you how many cars I saw this weekend at carlisle that had to rev, or maintain the throttle, or misfire while warming, and dont forget the stink from an misfed carb.

I really dont miss that at all... I'm spoiled and dont wanna drive my carb'd cars...lol

how quiet (or noisy) are the fuel pumps that come with the kit?

Noisy enough to hear if you have a quiet exhaust. If outside the tank, I recommend insulating the mount.

Any one know if you can mount the "kit" pump in the tank? I have the 307502 kit.

Thanks,

the pump that comes in the kit can only be externally mounted.

I have a full TTI exhaust system on my car and can only hear the rail mount pump that comes in the kit when the car is not running , in contrast the Holley blue pump I used to have on the car I could hear all the time.

The pump that comes in the kit does have an insulating sleeve and rubber coated mounts.

Re: FAST EZ-EFI - 07/12/10 12:19 PM

I should be installing mine as a single 4bl TBI next week or the following. I just got the new fuel system with the A1000 pump in the tank running and my trusty 800cfm annular QF carb, and had another big set back. I had another freeze plug that let go! Man, I just can't catch a break. I was told last year when I had to pull the motor for the other one that went, I should have changed all of them while it was out. Ooops.

So when I get my map sensor clip from Rich, a new temp sensor, and fix the stupid freeze plug, it might be ready for a swap. Looks like I can put a new one in without pulling the motor this time, just the header and exhaust. Truck still runs awesome, just leaks water like crazy.

I want one for my hemi so bad. I had the money about lined up for one then lost my job. Hopefully i'll be working by the end of the summer and will be able to buy one during the winter. I'm so sick of carb issues. and if one works i'll buy another for my wife's car
