Holley 4150 HP Won't Idle Down - 08/14/08 08:08 PM

I can't seem to get my Holley 4150 HP carb to get below 1100-1200 rpm.
Idle speed screw is backed off all the way. Is there another idle screw or ?
Thanks!!

there is the secondary idle screw that you can only get to from the bottom when the carb is off.

Before you remove the carb and try for another adjustment, is the throttle arm making a full forward return while at idle? Remove the throttle cable and see if the throttle arm moves forward any.

there is a vacuum port out the back of the baseplate for PCV or brakes, make sure that is plugged off or if it is being used than you are good.

spray carb cleaner down the air bleads. Make sure they do not have any dirt in them... They will cause you not to get the thing to idle or
