the fuse for the radio/back up keeps blowing.
whch makes the turn signals quit working,the radio an original just lights up but does not work.the fuse lasts about 5 minuets at most.just had the taillights fixed thinking that was the problem. why do the turn signals quit working?were do I start

Where do you start? Since there has been recent work performed on the tail lights, sounds like that's where I would start. Disconnect the rear bumper harness from the body harness, Molex connector left rear trunk floor under matt, test for blowing fuse. The turn signals are also on the radio/backup light circuit so shorts with any of those lights when activated will knock that fuse out. If the fuse still blows with the bumper harness disconnected the problem is elsewhere. disconnect the radio, the forward lighting harness, and the backup light switch harness at the bulkhead connector one at a time to eliminate problems with those components.

thanks for the help,the fuse was popping before the taillight work..thought that was the problem
their was a loose connection with the driverside turn signal
goin to get on it saturday

Does the fuse blow with the radio power disconnected?

I think that circuit may also go the the cigar lighter, make sure it is not shorting out.

Your right. I went and looked at my '71 FSM.
I would unplug the radio, reverse switch (On the transmission), and the flasher. This should isolate the circuit. If the fuse blows (or has any current flow) with all these disconnected then there is a short in the wiring. I would then reconnect each connection and see which one results in the fuse blowing. Also, because you had the taillights worked on, I would put the car in reverse and make sure the reverse lights work, and there is no short between the reverse switch and the lights.
I would connect the flasher last. If the problem happens when the flasher is connected, you will need to start troubleshooting the turn signal wiring.

the neutral saftey switch wire was hitting the tail pipe fried the wire ...does anybody sell them
