LATER MODEL RADIO REPAIR

LATER MODEL RADIO REPAIR - 06/06/10 12:37 PM

I've been told by some who work on "vintage" radios that mine (late 70's) are too "new" for them to fool with.

I have a couple good am/fm/cb Chrysler factory radios that are hard to turn, or tune? You turn the knob, they usually go left to right on the dial, but won't go right to left.

Anyone know who I might send them to, or know a quick "on my bench" repair?

thanks

Those old radios are semi mechanical using rollers and pulley's to move the dial.

If the electronics seem OK I suggest you open them up. A little electrical tuner cleaner and some time can do wonders.

Most often it's gummed up and can be cleaned.

OK, I'll try that.
