I'm trying to identify a cam that came out of my 440.
It has a couple of tan dots on it with the number 894440. The shaft of the cam bears the letters "CWC" and the numbers 1104 ( they are cast into it).

Did anyone ID your cam?

Any idea what brand mine is and what the specs are for it?

To both of you guys those 4 digit numbers indicate after market cores not used specifically by mopars. Ive seen 1117 , 1103 and now your numbers. Ive seen eldebrock cams with 1103

But what is more specific to mopar is the 6 digit numbers. Independit of themselves, I dont know if they can be cross refrenced to a MP cam specific number. The two dots implies its a MP cam also.

The Quickest and easiest way to tell witch MP cam you have is to mike and compare the lobes base circle to its max lift diameter and multiply it by 1.5 With the MP cams there is enough lift difference between the cams to figure out what you have.

When Ive measured them that way, I get within .02 or Better. And thats Mostly because of the Cams loose tolerences.

Example, I just measured a MP cam laying around.

Measuring things Twice I got 1.2425/1.2430 for the base circle, and 1.5645/1.5650 for max lobe.

If I subtract the furthest numbers apart 1.5650 max lobe - 1.2425 base circle = .323
mutiply that by 1.5 RR = .4845 lift.

That cam can only be the MP 484. If you figure the lift you will pretty surely know witch cam you have.

Thanks,
My cam is apparently the "440 Six Pack" cam! The two different lifts threw me off for a second. Very good cam.

Very good information. I wonder if the color of the dots wouldn't indicate the ID of each cam ?
