A body SB TTI headers - 05/14/10 11:28 PM

Anyone have TTi headers on their A body with a small block and power steering? Im looking for any helpful tips you may have, the engine is on the K frame out of the car, so that should be a help, but just a quick test fitting doesnt look like they will fit. If you have a pic of the drvers side installed that would be helpful also. thanks guys

Yes they fit....But it's REALLY tight! You'll likely need to remove the torsion bars to install them.

There are W2 style headers (recent issue Mopar Performance W-2 cast iron heads) once installed they fit great with no major issues. This engine also used a compact mini starter which likely eased the install. I'm sure the regular TTI's with stock heads would clear fine as well, TTI's are known for a good fit.

My 74 Duster has a 360, Power steering and a 4 speed. The TTI pipes fit great. Mine are the "step" headers that start at 1 5/8 and step to 1 3/4. They have a separate pipe for #7 that slips into place around the left T-bar. Nice design. I hated to spend the big money, but my patience is getting MUCH shorter as I get older.

Thanks fr the replies and pictures. I played with them for about 3 hrs today, no way I can get them on the way the engine is sitting on the dolly. Looks like I will have to put the engine in the car, then fit the headers. Thanks again guys.

Mine hit the top of the P/S box, If you read the directions it will say the CL of the crank must sit I THINK 5 1/4" from the top of the k frame, my engine sat a bit lower and i had to shim it up. maybe Indian made motor mounts?

I used mounts off a truck I think. They are thicker. That did the trick for me.

They fit fine with power steering for me. I was bleeding by the time I got the full size starter in thoughl

My 67 Cuda has W2's with TTI 1 7/8" primaries. A real job to get the left side in after I installed PS. I thought heat would be an issue but was not on my trip from Carson City to Las Vegas
