yes you are correct. went on ebag and found one that looks exactly like it and the number on it is 2962688. it said is was for 71 gtx

When I was a kid, I remember my dad using this one for a 70+ newport.......may be 73 but not sure..

You can rule out anything later than 1972. Somewhere around then the bumper jacks came with a spade that fit into a rectangular slot in the bumper. No jack hook necessary.
