Wheel Stud Knurl Diameters

Wheel Stud Knurl Diameters - 05/01/10 04:41 PM

I have a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury that I want to convert to right hand studs. The rear axle is out of a 1966 coronet Station Wagon and the front is the stock 10x2 1/2 drums.
There is some confusion as to what the proper knurl diameter is and what I measured on the replacement rear stud differs from what APR lists for Mopar rear axles.
Anyway if you did this what studs did you use?

Thanks.

I have most of the right hand mopar studs on hand, I can't do it right now, but can measure the OD tomorrow if you still need it

you need it for the stock 64 ft drums and the stock 66 rear axles , correct?

ARP lists the knurl diameter as .680 The replacement stud I bought at Advance Auto Parts measures out to .665-.670. One listing I ran across had the .680 dia. listed for the rear with 11" drums, but Mopar being frugal I can't see that.
I really don't want to lay the car up by pushing out studs to measure them but it might come to that.

I bought what Advance listed has the rear axle stud, the front drum brake stud (.625) and the front disk brake stud (.615) by my measuring.

Anybody know if knurl diameter is the measured the same as pitch diameter?
