Do vacuum leaks affect a proper timing setting? - 04/22/10 09:40 PM

I timed the engine on my truck(400-2v) and a few days later I discovered the Carb mounting bolts were very loose.

I tightened the bolts up,and was wondering if I should recheck the timing,or would the vacuum leak have not affected the timing setting?

I am not sure, I would say maybe but I would definitely recheck it, because everything can affect something else in your tune up, then you will know for sure.

only if a rpm increase from the leak upped the idle to the point where it was starting to adv the dist springs but I dont think so here
