Alloy wheel widening

Does anyone know of a company that can widen a set of Torq Thrust TTO's from 8 1/2" to 10"?

I am sure it can be done, but when you consider what you would get for selling an existing set and then buying a new set with warranty and all, why bother? I assume duties and shipping maybe a factor for you, but widening will have costs also. So whats the deal?

Should have asked, are they the cast or drawn and welded versions?

I have it done somewhat often... have someone here local to me and also someone in Oz who does it. (I supply the guy in Oz all the outers so makes it easier)
Due to your location, like mentioned by the time you paid shipping back and forth, for the new 10" outers and labor, you might as well just order a new pair of wheels and only pay shipping one way and sell your 8 1/2's... unless you find somewhere there to do it ?

Ah, what I should have mentioned is that American Racing Wheels don't produce the TTO in a 10" rim. The widest they offer is 8 1/2". So my plan would be to buy a pair in the States and get them shipped directly to a company that can widen them.

To my knowledge, there isn't a company over here that can do it.

So if you can give me the name of a reputable company it would be appreciated - possibly a website address as well?

Is the TTO even a 2 piece wheel come to think of it ? and what diameter ? Only a 9"/9.5 or 11" in some diameters for outers off hand..

Think it's a cast one piece. I'll need the 15" diamerer wheel. The only reason I'm asking about widening is because there's a guy on Ebay that has had a set of Torq thrusts widened to 14". I've emailed him to ask where he got them done but no answer.

If they are one piece, you are out of luck...

I only know one place that will do them (my wheel guy in Oz) and you would need 4 wheels to make 2 out of them... might find some other place of course, but none I know of..

Getting 2 piece wheels done is easy though.

i wouldn't try welding on a cast aluminum wheel. is it doable, sure, but you could be left with alot of porosity and a weak weld. on an intake you don't worry about it as much, on a wheel i would be terrified to run it.

Done right on a new wheel, not at bonneville nor Daytona highbanks, non fueler, I would run it. The word "new" in this application is very important IMO
