Low deck B engine. A 400 based 451/470 will fit perfect

1964 Newport 2-door HT production: 10,579

I would guess it's fairly rare, I don't think many full-sized cars came with manual transmissions even then, although it was standard on many of them. Base price of the car was $3,500, automatic transmission was only $227 versus $500-$700 for AC.

Hopefully someone will be able to direct you to a good site that specializes in them

Over the last year, I watched three different ones pop up on eBay. I was surprised in as much as so few were made. I don't believe any of them fetched over 2 grand or so. There's enough interchangabilty with later stuff that won't leave you stranded due to something breaking.
Personally, if it were a two door, I would LOVE one. Where is this one located?
The experts on these cars at over at moparfins and cbodydrydock.

You're just mad because I mentioned moparfins ahead of the drydock. Grow up.

A 470 stroker w a built 727 along with it and a later 8&3/4 housing (for easier gear changes) & some HP ex manifolds w a 3" mandrel pipes (Andy got 550 horsepower w them) w Walker dynomax 17769 muffs w an X pipe and resonators of some sort in the rear tailpipes (both for the noise). Nobody will know the difference until it is too late . Good luck w it

You have got to be kidding about the Dock. There's a small handful that know what they are talking about. Most of them need training on how to start a car.

Commando1 is right about Moparfins. The tallent there is more knowledgable. Not to mention, the ones in the know also left the Dock for Fins.

I'm a Dock member too. I am constantly trying to straighten out people who are guessing. Frankly, I just won't do it anymore. Been a dock member since it's conception.

I wish I had a dollar for every post on the dock where somebody asked the same questions that have already been answered about 1000 times prior - like headers and disc brakes. That site does need a few search nazis for the lazy people.
