Laquer paint to thinner ratio 1:1? - 04/03/10 12:02 PM

I'm getting ready to spray some automotive Laquer but didn't get any info on it. From some information I found, it looks like the ratio is 1:1?
Thanks.

Thanks B3, that's what I've been reading but wanted to make sure with someone who has sprayed it.

PPG Laquer is reduced 1:1.5
DBC basecoat is reduced 1:1

When we sprayed Acrylic Lacquer we mixed 1:1 50/50 just equal parts to get the Car covered , usually 6 coats or so , then sand a bit , then maybe 1 or 2 coats and then mix 1:1.5 (1.5 is Lacquer thinner) , then mix some clear into the color and thin 1:1.5 (just to make thing flow a bit mre better) now as mentioned PPG was thinned more , the paint we used was R&M , if you want to be really dead on use a viscosity gauge , it also depends on if the Lacquer has dried a bit from sitting because it will be thicker , I like Black Lacquer paint it looks really nice , or black single stage for a Black Car but as was mentioned there are way better Paints made today than Lacquer.

When i sprayed that textured PPG Laquer paint on my dash frame it was 50/50, any less thinner and I got cob webs.

That is what I'm spraying on my dash frame, just like the factory did. I found the cob webbing also if it was too thick of a mix.
