First time narrowing 8 3/4 - TIPS? - 03/23/10 08:56 PM
I will be narrowing an E body 8 3/4 by 3" on both sides. Does anyone have a link to some good reading on the subject? Where to cut, how to keep flanges straight, etc...

You really need a jig to do it right. But here's a link to a how to on it.

a jig is best
I sent mine to moser and let it get done right/fit the first time

Agreed, for the money I just send mine to Moser Engineering. It's not hard to ruin a rearend without the proper jig.

I shipped a bare 8 3/4 housing a couple years ago through USPS. Although I don't remember the exact cost, I do remember it being surprisingly inexpensive. Just wrap it in plastic real good to prevent oil seepage, then in good paper. No boxing/crating required.
