It's a 15x5, 4.5" bolt circle with a 2.75" center hole and the center is welded in. It has the numbers 23 on one side of the velve stem hole and 00 on the other side.

It came off of an old homebuilt trailer my father gave to me and I'm wondering if it's something worth saving or not. I think I have a pair, haven't pulled the other one out to take a looksee. This one had an old, weather cracked, bias ply tire on it that's probably older than me, the other one still is wearing it's old tire.

Identifiers? - 07/29/08 09:48 PM

Well, is there some sort of identifier that designates a Mopar wheel? I've ruled out Ford as there is no FoMoCo stamp on it. I think maybe AMC had a 5 on 4.5" pattern?

Look on the inside where the tire would cover there should be a factory Mopar part number if it is Mopar as well as the size and Motor Rim & wheel info who made it for Mopar.

Looks like it takes the big dog dish so it`s either old mopar (pre `66) or brand X.

Okay, well then it looks like it's headed for my electrolytic rust removal tank. The bead areas look fine, but the center has a lot of flaking rust. I'm leery of using a cup brush on my 4" angle grinder to removel the rust and I'm too lazy to use a wire brush by hand.

I guess I ought to try and measure the circle where the dog dish attaches too as well.
