Need Source for Brake Pads 69 Factory Disc - 07/29/08 02:29 AM

I have the four piston factory disc brakes on my 69 B-body. I had the calipers rebuilt (resleeved) about 8 years ago. I noticed the car pulling to the left tonight. Looking at the right caliper, it appears I have a leak. I am in desperate need for another seal kit and pads. I thought Year One carried them, but no luck. I also tried Paddock. NAPA and Autozone say they carry them, but when you go pick them up, they are for the newer single piston floating caliper.

I need to get something quick, as I plan on taking the car to the Mopar Nationals. Anyone more resourcfull than me? I am desperately searching through old boxes as I know I kept the old seals which I thought were in great shape. But I would prefer new parts.

Brake pads, and rebuilding kits, (seals) are totally obsolete parts in the aftermarket for those B body Bendix disc brake systems.
From time to time brake pads show up for sale on e Bay, but as you allready found out, you can't get them anymore at your local auto parts store.
Rebuild kits probably have been obsolete for 20 + years.
When i need pads for my customers cars, i send them down to this company to have them relined.

You might not be able to safely use your car until you get your brakes working properly. Good luck.

I had a hard time 20 years ago getting parts to rebuild a B body Bendix setup. I think by now anyone who drives their car on a regular basis has switched over to the 1973 or newer style of brakes since you can easily get parts for them.

Thanks all. I can't beleive the price of the pads. Back when I had the calipers resleeved, I had two sets of pads and gave away a set

I'll be pulling the caliper off tonight to look at it.

It says price includes a core charge , I wonder how much that is ?

I bought a set of these pads in 1985 , never used them , glad now that I saved them .

Whoo hoo. I found my old stock of parts. For some reason I thought I gave the pads away. I also had 4 new seals and dust boots that were original chrylser parts. I compared them to what the calipers had in them and they are diffrent. Not much, but the stock part has more curvature, a wider sealing surface and the lip sticks out a bit more. I got the caliper together last night and started to bleed the brakes, but need to finish up. I hope I don't need to do the other side.
