Big Block Valve Cover Gaskets - 02/24/10 08:17 PM

Any recommendations for valve cover gaskets for a 383/440? I'm using stamped steel covers.

Thanks.

Send a PM to b1headman about the gaskets that Roadhazard makes.

Here's a thread about them

FWIW, I'm using these on my current build

I guess I forgot about him not having the stamped steel VC versions.

Wouldn't hurt to send him a PM and ask.

Never know when new stuff comes out

Sorry alration, I don't have anything for stamped covers yet. I'll have to see if the profile of my new B/RB gasket will fit inside the stamped valve covers.

I need to find some now, I just sold the 2 sets I had at a swap meet last summer

Edelbrock has some really thick gaskets that should work well with stamped covers. The thinner gaskets work better with cast covers.

I just use any old gasket on mine. I always tighten the bolts on the bottom of the valve cover first and then the top. They don't seem to leak that way.
