URGENT!!! Holley fuel bowl bolt thread? - 07/26/08 12:41 PM

Hi All,
I'm supposed to be taking my car out to the strip tomorrow, but after making a jet change late this afternoon, I stripped out one of the fuel bowl bolt threads. While it's highly unlikely that anyone open tomorrow morning will sell helicoils, I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Problem is, I can't seem to find out what the thread size is. Any one know?

Yup. Oddball thread. Unless you have some big, speed oriented shops in your area, you won't find them in stock. I've never figured out why people like Holley just HAD to use odd threads. Worse than firearms.

Here's at least one listing:

I bought my heli coil kit at a local nut and bolt supply house. The guy at the counter said it was a common thread for locksmiths? I asked the guy at my neighborhood Ace and they had the kit as well. Good Luck

And BTW I paid $22 for the kit, I just looked at the links listed

No good for tomorrow but... I ordered the heli-coil kit form my local speed shop. He had it the next morning. $24.00. The heli-coil part number is 5521-1 for the 12-24 threads. You will also need a 15/64" drill bit.
